This is a generic aftermarket electric fan controller module unit assembly for the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Compatible models: Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Freelander II, etc. 2-pin/2-pin/2-pin. Genuine part numbers: 940009402, 940011200, 940004101, 940004105, 940004106, 940004107, 7T438C609BA, and 7T438C609.
All cars, regardless of manufacturer, are equipped with an electric fan at the front of the radiator. The electric fan operates to prevent the coolant temperature from rising due to engine heat during slow-speed traffic jams when the radiator is less exposed to the wind, and to maintain an appropriate temperature during hot summer days.
Normally, when the water temperature rises above 90-95°C, the engine will go into fail-safe mode to protect itself by increasing fuel and retarding the ignition timing. Therefore, it is very important to operate the electric fan and stabilize the water temperature. If the electric fan controller module unit breaks down, the electric fan will stop working, the water temperature will rise, and power will drop, causing the engine to malfunction.
In the worst case scenario, the coolant temperature will rise and overheat, causing problems such as a blown head gasket. If the water temperature gauge indicates overheating but there is no decrease in coolant and no abnormalities are found in the thermostat, the electric fan may not be turning, so the cooling system needs to be inspected.
The replacement process is as simple as removing the vehicle's coupler and replacing it with this product, so even beginners can easily do it. Since genuine parts are expensive, we recommend replacing them early with affordable aftermarket parts that are equivalent to genuine parts.
