This is the standard edition of the series.
Set on the deserted island of Catan, players build a settlement (house) as their base and then develop the entire island.
The first player to score 10 points in a development race against their opponents wins.
To build settlements, players use resources earned by rolling dice.
If they don't have the necessary resources, they can trade resources with their opponents. Active communication will give you an advantage in the game.
While the rules are simple enough for elementary school students to play, this is the definitive board game that adults will love too!
