Brand Introduction
Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, and is a brand that integrates tradition and innovation. The first pocket watch developed by the brand, the Broadway Limited, gained recognition as the "Watch of Railroad Accuracy." In 1914, it was selected as a supplier to the U.S. Air Force, and in 1919, it began providing services for ski event timing and the U.S. Postal Service. In the 1930s, it was used as the official watch for many airlines, and during World War II in 1947, Hamilton paused public sales and produced nearly a million military watches. In 1970, it introduced the world's first digital watch, "Pulsar," and in 1977, it was acquired by the Omega-Tissot Group (SSIH). By entering the SMH group in 1983, Hamilton is now part of the Swatch Group.
