Woody Joe 1/150 Osaka Castle Wooden Model Assembly Kit
Osaka Castle's main tower was reconstructed on November 7, 1931, with donations from the citizens of Osaka. It was based on the "Osaka Summer Campaign Screen" and other Toyotomi-era documents. The white plaster walls of the first four stories are from the Tokugawa period, while the five-story watchtower features lavish gold decorations of cranes and ferocious tigers from the Toyotomi period. (Registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property in 1997)
Osaka Castle, originally written as "Osaka," was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi between 1583 and 1586 and was commonly known as "Kinjo" (Golden Castle) or "Kinjo" (Brown Castle).
It is a flat-style castle (with a central enclosure and concentric moats between the enclosures), with the Toyotomi castle being a composite structure and the Tokugawa castle being a separate structure.
The current castle was rebuilt as Osaka Castle by the Tokugawa clan, building on the Toyotomi clan's Osaka Castle. The third reconstructed castle tower, built on the original Tokugawa castle's stone foundations, shines as a symbol of Osaka.
