Woody Joe 1/72 Solar Boat Wooden Model Assembly Kit
The solar boats (Khufu I and II) are said to have been built around 2600 BC for the pharaoh (king) to sail through the sky with the sun god Ra after his death.
Of the two boats buried south of Khufu's pyramid, the first was discovered by Egyptian archaeologists in 1954, and the second in 1987 by the Waseda University Egyptology Institute, led by Professor Sakuji Yoshimura.
Both are large ships, approximately 50 meters in length, and are the oldest wooden ships in the world constructed with systematically assembled components.
The first boat is currently on display in the museum next to the pyramid, and the second boat has been excavated and preserved by the Egyptian Institute, where restoration plans, including 3D data creation, are currently being considered.
Under the supervision of archaeologist Sakuji Yoshimura, this 1/72 scale replica of the Egyptian Exhibition Ship (First Ship) was created based on detailed documentation.
