Product Introduction
Rokuon-ji Temple, home to Kinkakuji Temple, was built in 1397 in Kitayama, Kyoto, by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun of the Muromachi period.
The expansive garden features numerous trees and a strolling pond. The building, with its exterior walls covered in gold leaf, is known as Kinkakuji.
The temple is three-story, with the top floor housing a Buddhist statue in the Zen Buddhist style, while the lower floors are built in a residential style.
These towers, designed for viewing from above, are said to have been modeled after the upper chambers and Sanmon gates built in the abbot's chambers of Zen temples.
The current Kinkakuji Temple was rebuilt in 1955.
The 1/75 scale Rokuon-ji Kinkakuji has been completely redesigned, with the roof structure replaced with a laser-machined frame.
This kit features a plain wood finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood, making it easy to assemble and beautifully recreating the Kinkakuji Temple.
The assembly instructions are now fully colored for easy reading.
