Product Introduction
Nikko Toshogu Shrine Yomeimon Gate. Nikko Toshogu Shrine enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo shogunate, as Tosho Daigongen. Major reconstruction began in 1634 under the orders of the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, and the shrine was rebuilt into a majestic structure in preparation for the anniversary of the death of Ieyasu in 1636. The Yomeimon Gate (a National Treasure) is particularly striking, boasting numerous, brilliantly colored carvings and considered Japan's most beautiful gate. Its architectural style is a three-bay, one-door tower gate, with a gabled roof and copper-tiled roof featuring karahafu (gabled roofs) on all four sides. It is also known as the "Higurashi Gomon" (Higurashi Gate) because it is so fascinating to gaze upon. In 1999, the shrine complex was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This kit is a full-scale wooden model combining blade-machined and laser-machined parts. It has been completely redesigned to improve the precision of the parts, and the assembly instructions have been updated for easier understanding. This magnificent and dazzling Yomeimon Gate is recreated using blade-cut roof tiles, laser-cut wooden rafters, rafter joints, carvings, and stone paving, as well as numerous metal parts such as dragons, Chinese lions, and decorative metal fittings.
